I recently had the pleasure of taking some branding photos for Chelsea from CHIBOO Bakery, a local micro-bakery that specializes in gourmet French macarons and other world-inspired dainty desserts!
I always love taking on this type of session because it gives me the chance to learn more about other local small businesses and I love hearing all the stories behind them! So I was so thrilled to take on this project for a chance to do just that. It really gets my creative juices flowing!
Chelsea and I chatted over Instagram for about a year before we finally got to meet in person for this session. I knew I wanted to help her level up her business with these photos, so I planned to take some updated headshots, but I also wanted to capture the essence of the magic she creates with her macarons with some product photos, too!
We rented a natural light studio in Northern Virginia to get the best possible lighting for the photos. The studio was perfect for the shoot as it had large windows that gave the whole room a cozy, inviting, and warm feel. It was perfect for the vibe of this session!
Chelsea brought in a cake stand and a bouquet of fresh flowers to use as props, with colours perfectly complimenting her macarons and the overall branding of the bakery. We incorporated some other elements, too, like multiple outfits and candid “behind-the-scenes” style photos, to give Chelsea lots of options for any marketing plans she has this year! It all came together so, so perfectly.
Overall, the shoot was such a success, and I had so much working with Chelsea! I'm looking forward to more collaborations in the future - we’re planning some photos this summer in CHIBOO Bakery’s kitchen!
