Spring Maternity Session at Oatlands Historic House & Gardens
Spring is finally here and I'm beyond excited to be able to capture outdoor sessions again!
I had the honor of photographing M & N's spring maternity session last week, and one of the best parts of their session was getting to explore the Oatlands Historic House & Gardens in Leesburg, Virginia!
When they mentioned they wanted to go somewhere with a lot of greenery for their maternity session, I knew that Oatlands Historic House & Gardens was the perfect location for their maternity session. Every time I’ve taken my clients there in the past, they’ve left talking about how they can’t wait to come back! Though it does require a bit of a drive, it’s totally worth the trip in every way. It’s one of my favorite locations, especially during the spring and summer seasons. The garden offers so many spots around the historic manor that feature beautiful greenery and different types of trees among the buildings, walkways, pillars, and so much more.
We were worried that rain would get in the way of our plans for this session, but thankfully it held off! As we walked around the gardens and enjoyed the scenery and spring flowers the sun came out just as we started shooting, and we had the most beautiful golden light to work with as it peeked through the trees. It was the most perfect afternoon capturing M & N’s maternity session.
M & N both looked amazing, and M’s blue flowery dress could not have complimented the gardens more perfectly. Whether they were standing under the cherry blossom trees, sitting on the stone steps, or walking through the gardens, they were both radiating happiness for this exciting time in their lives. This is their first pregnancy, and they are keeping everyone in suspense in regard to the gender reveal for Baby C's arrival day!
